For those of you who didn’t know, Halifax has an abundance of haunted locations. Halifax Ghost Walks arrange spooky walks around the town starting from the Town Hall on 29 October 2007.
The ghost walks have taken place at Halloween since 2000 after their success in Calderdale .
Paul Bellenger, Senior Halifax Town Centre Ambassador said, “There has been a phenomenal response to the Town Centre Ghost Walks, people really seem to get in the spirit and enjoy themselves. Each year the walk gets better and even spookier.”
Mr Bellenger, who heads the tours, transforms into Ghost Walk Tour Guide, Alexander who reveals Halifax’s gruesome past and haunted hotspots. The tour will go to Piece Hall and the Town Hall.
Beth Ward, Town Centre Manager said, “The ghost walks are a great feature for Halifax over the Halloween period – and really scary. Paul really gets into character with Alexander, he even looks like he could frighten a ghost! The walks incorporate all the scariest places in Halifax and you get a real story behind some of the myths and legends of Halifax from years gone by.”
The last tour will take place on 31 October. There are two walks each night at 6pm and 8pm and last approximately one hour. The cost of the walks is £3 for adults and £2 per child. The ticket money will be donated to the Mayor’s Charity .
