June Hammsersley found a huge pumpkin growing in her garden at the top of a 7ft conifer tree .
The 36lb huge pumpkin appeared on a plant which decided to train itself up the nearby tree trunk.
“We planted it a good 6ft from the conifers. We saw it was creeping along the garden because some lovely flowers were growing,” June said.
“The plant climbed up the conifer and one day we saw the pumpkin at the top. It’s like Jack and the Beanstalk no one can believe their eyes,” she added.
June, 77, and her husband David, are planning to give it to their great grandson as a gift for Halloween .
“I’ve had pumpkin pie and didn’t like it so I won’t be cooking it,” she said.
“It is certainly the most unusual thing to come out of our garden this year,” she added
